It's been more than six years since Google began offering its free public Wi-Fi services in California. Over time, the wireless hotspot technology has improved and the public's use of mobile devices has exploded in popularity. A plan for Google to set up part of Manhattan with similar free wireless Internet access was unveiled last week. As PCMag points out, no matter how fast or reliable the new network will be, a person will need to take security precautions when using it to avoid having personal information stolen. Similar network security considerations apply to any open Wi-Fi network. Do you trust Google's enough to use it?

My goodness what a foolish question. Google is the premier personal information harvester in the whole world. No, Google doesn’t come to your house and steal your dirty underwear, or your antique guns, but they have been caught driving by your house and stealing your wifi information. How can anyone trust Google with anything? Just stop and think, “Why do they collect and index all this vast quantity of personal, private information?”, THEY SELL IT to every spammer who is willing to pay the price. How do you think Google makes so much money giving away free stuff? Wake up people and smell the coffee! Google is NOT your friend!!!!!
