Wi-Fi Donkeys In the News

Kfar Kedem Park in Israel is probably the first to have invented a new kind of wireless hotspot I call "donkey Wi-Fi." Here's how it works: Park officials strap wireless routers onto donkeys that carry tourists along the riding trails, helping them (the people, not the donkeys) stay connected online while taking in the sights. This park is designed to re-create the experience of life in ancient Israel during Biblical times, so encouraging people to use their smartphones and tablets while riding seems to be in poor taste. However, I agree with the author that donkey Wi-Fi isn't as bad as the SXSW homeless people hotspot stunt we saw earlier this year.
