Using the Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows Microsoft's Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows enables you to use standard Xbox 360 controllers (and other accessories) wirelessly with Windows games. A small adapter that plugs into a USB port on your PC, this Wireless Receiver communicates with Xbox 360 accessories using Microsoft's own 2.4 GHz based wireless protocol (not Wi-Fi). A software package provided by Microsoft (included with wireless accessory kits) must also be installed on the PC to activate the Receiver.

Besides installing the software properly, you may also need to install a cheap USB hub on your PC to supply sufficient power to the Wireless Receiver. The Receiver appears to support Xbox 360 controllers well but may not offer full compatibility with some other accessories like the Wireless Racing Wheel.
