Apple iPhone The error message "Unable to Join Network Failure (error -3)" appears on an iPhone when it fails to connect to a Wi-Fi network. In fact, the reasons for this issue are the same as for PCs failing to connect to a wireless home network or hotspot. To resolve these issues, do the following:
  • check the network name (SSID) setting on the iPhone to ensure it matches that of the Wi-Fi access point. Recall that SSIDs are case sensitive.

  • check the security configuration (WEP or WPA parameters) on the iPhone to ensure the values (encryption keys or passphrases) match the access point. Encyrption keys are not case sensitive, but passphrases are.

  • if neither of the above steps resolve the issue, troubleshoot security settings on the Wi-Fi access point. Contact the administrator of the access point for additional help if necessary.

Having this problem since 3.0.1 upgrade. Can’t even connect to non-secured wireless networks.
