How Fast Is EV-DO?

| Commentary | The EV-DO wireless network protocol is used by some cellular phones to provide Internet access. The "speed" you can expect from an EV-DO connection depends on which version of the protocol is implemented. Originally, EV-DO only supported a theoretical maximum of 2.4 Mbps but newer Revisions to the standard support 3.1 Mbps with much higher speeds coming in the near future.
