Avalanche - Improving P2P File Swarming through Network Coding

| Commentary | Although not new, Microsoft's Avalanche P2P network architecture is all the buzz in the file sharing community this week. Note that Avalanche is not a P2P client or application you can download. It is simply a research project that offers some theoretical improvements over the popular BitTorrent P2P network protocol. The creator of BitTorrent has published their scathing technical analysis of Avalanche, kicking the debate into a higher gear.
