Isolated home LAN for video streaming
- Am running 2 laptops (1 XP Pro, 1 Win7 Ultimate) and one tower XP Pro. Western Digital media player and Belkin router. This system is used for internal file transfer and movie streaming through the WD media player. For Internet use, we switch to an integrated modem/router supplied by Telus. Without Internet interference the streaming to the TV is flawless and sharing is limited to the home network (isolated).

Work in progress
- I am in progress of building my network. I have a Linksys WRT610N router with gigabit. From it I ran CAT6a to a desktop, two switches, and a QNAP Turbo NAS. The switches are crappy fast Ethernet ones from China off ebay. I am installing gigabit PCI cards on some computers. I am currently ripping my entire dvd collection to the NAS, and then play them on my SageTV media player(wired). My goal is to expand gigabit across my network.

3 out of 3, Windows XP
- I have one laptop and two desktop machines all using Windows XP. The two desktops are using XP professional and the laptop is using XP home. It would be very useful to be able to look at files on each machine from each other.I also have a Wi-Fi printer which is set up to print from each machine.

Don't judge them by their size
- The network is a very important part of technology. That means a network can be very small but the largest worker, I think.
