Linksys WRT54G features include:

- support for standard network firewall technologies

- WRT54GL - comparable hardware but runs embedded Linux, designed to better support third-party router firmware customizations
- WRT54GS - includes Linksys SpeedBooster wireless bridging technology that increases connection speeds if the client uses a compatible Wi-Fi adapter
