Part 2 - Hubs and Switches
For a given manufacturer and port configuration, hubs remains less expensive than the corresponding switches. Cost-conscious home networkers who do not use high-bandwidth applications (especially those with dial-up Internet connections) still have good reason to choose a hub for their network. The performance limitations of hubs will not be noticeable as long as the total amount of network traffic remains relatively low.
