Bearshare Client Overview:
The Bearshare file sharing client connects to the Gnutella P2P network. Bearshare exists in both free Lite and paid Pro versions. Bearshare is a closed-source (binary only) application. Bearshare is often compared with its main rival, Limewire.
Bearshare System Requirements:
- 32 MB or greater RAM
- Live Internet connection
- Microsoft Windows 98 or newer Windows operating system
P2P Networks Supported:
- Gnutella
Default Bearshare Client Network Ports:
Bearshare Network Protocols:
- Bearshare natively supports the Gnutella P2P network protocol. It does not support Gnutella2.
- Query Routing Protocol (QRP) for Ultrapeer support
