On Windows, Groove features a very slick user interface that even inexperienced computer users should find easy to use. Groove is not a browser-based system; its user interface is a dedicated client requiring a separate download. Like
WinAmp and some other popular clients, Groove supports the concept of skins -- user customizable look-and-feel for text, colors, and buttons.
The first task a user performs after installing Groove is to create an account. Accounts allow Groove users to join the network securely. Account information consists of name and password. Groove also supports the concept of multiple identities for a single person.
For example, a corporate user may want to set up one identity for use at work and a second one for use at home.

Groove Account Creation
The transceiver is Groove's main application interface. It is the launch point to Groove's basic activities. Here, users can initiate activities such as chat, file sharing, and forum discussions. They can also
- create and manage spaces
- create account identities
- change skins
The Groove Transceiver
Instant Groove is the UI designed specifically for instant messaging. From this interface messages can be sent (as shown below) or received.
Instant Groove
Groove maintains an event log of system activity. The tray icon blinks when an incoming message arrives, and as shown below, each send and receive event can also be displayed in a list. Clicking on the text causes the Instant Groove window to pop-up and clears the event.

Both Instant Groove and the transceiver can be accessed from Groove's system tray icon. The right-click menu is shown below.
