This month's FCC report Report on Consumer Wireline Broadband
Performance in the U.S. indicates that major Internet providers are now delivering bandwidth levels very close (about 96% on average) to their advertised ratings. In years past, complaints of 3 Mbps rated service running closer to 1 Mbps in practice were not uncommon. The new data, however, suggests people can put much more faith in the Internet connection speeds their providers are promising. This report also suggests that providers are also successfully adding and supporting higher speed services. Of course, some providers may be an exception to the trend. Is your Internet service not measuring up?
