A company in New Jersey, USA has a unique idea for how to build wireless networks. OpCoast attaches wireless radios to actual cockroaches with the idea to send them on audio surveillance missions inside buildings or other places hard for people to reach. While it sounds a bit odd, the U.S. Army liked the idea so much it funded the company with USD $850,000. Although some press articles are calling them Wi-Fi roaches, Zigbee technology is actually being used instead.
