Wireless Network Watcher is a software program that when run scans a local network for any connected clients. This utility displays a list of all connected devices with name and address information. For the program to function, Wireless Network Watcher must be installed on a Windows PC be connected to the local network it is scanning. Home network administrators familiar with the types of devices ordinarily connected to their network can identify unauthorized devices quickly through this interface, but novices may have some difficulty matching up entries on the list to their physical equipment. While it isn't practical to run this kind of tool constantly, having it available to use can be helpful in cases when you suspect a network break-in.
