| Commentary | Did you know your home network can function as a Private Branch Exchange (PBX)? If you have mastered the basics of building a home computer network and looking to add new capabilities, consider installing an Internet Protocol (IP) PBX that will let you replace your home telephone service. What you'll need: a spare PC, the Asterisk open source IP telephony software, and some technical know-how.
