Boeing Chooses Ethernet over Wi-Fi

| Commentary | Boeing's announcement last week to ditch WiFi in favor of wired connections is the latest in a series of setbacks for wireless networking on airplanes. In such a small enclosed space, the need for wireless isn't great. However, it means travelers on the Boeing 787 will now need to ensure they have Ethernet networking installed, which isn't an automatic nowadays.
→ Before this announcement, Boeing was planning an 802.11n solution.
