Bots and Botnets

| Commentary | Did you know that your computer can be hijacked from across the Internet and used to spew out spam emails or other unscrupulous attacks on behalf of others? These are often called botnet attacks. The goal of those who engage in such activities is to hijack a large number of computers to form an organized group of bots. Fortunately, protecting against botnets is a fairly simple task: just run good antivirus software and keep it up to date.
