The MacBook Flap and Wireless Hotspots

| Commentary | A wireless security issue affecting some laptop computers was announced at the Black Hat network security conference this week. Security issues with Wi-Fi equipment pop up occasionally, but this one generated an unusually large buzz as a MacBook computer was involved. Based on the limited information available, it appears this is not a MacBook-specific issue either, but there is no reason to panic in any case. Taking the normal wireless security precautions when connecting to public Wi-Fi hotspots should be all you need to protect yourself.
