Dell Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband ExpressCard

Sunday July 2, 2006
| Commentary | The new Dell Wireless 5700 Mobile Broadband ExpressCard supports direct connection to the Internet over EV-DO, Verizon's high-speed cellular Internet service. This product is notable because it is the first cellular modem built for the ExpressCard peripheral standard. It supports an impressive 2 Mbps maximum data transfer rate. But before you run out to buy one, remember that this card is incompatible with the PC Card interface prevalent on most older laptops. Be sure your laptop supports ExpressCard (and be prepared to subscribe to Verizon's EV-DO service) before purchasing this modem.
