About Hidden Shared Folders

| Commentary | When looking up the list of network shares on your Windows computer, you'll probably see several entries there that you didn't create. The names of these so-called "hidden" shares have a dollar sign ($) on the end that prevents them from being seen in My Network Places or Network Neighborhood. These particular shares (like ADMIN$) are designed for use by network managers on corporate networks and can safely be deleted on a home computer. You can also create hidden network shares of your own simply by placing a dollar sign at the end of the name.

@Edson: You need to set permissions on the folders where the files are. (Security tab of Properties for the folders) Make sure only yourself (and anyone else in the office who needs access) is in the list of group or user names.
