Ethereal - Network Protocol Analyzer

| Commentary | Ethereal is an advanced utility program for use on computer networks. Ethereal is a network protocol analyzer commonly used by students, researchers and some companies to monitor network traffic. Ethereal is capable of detecting and decoding 750 different protocols. And of course, it's a free software download. Who knew that 750 network protocols even existed!?

Due to trademark issues, the developers of Ethereal had to rename the project to Wireshark in May 2006.
